Kim and Marilyn Smith (Owners/ Directors)

With a combined experience of over four decades, Kim and Marilyn have nurtured Tanamakoon into a thriving community since 1984. Kim’s legal background and Marilyn’s teaching expertise bring a unique blend of skills to the camp’s leadership.

Patti Thom (Camp Director)

Patti’s journey with Tanamakoon began in 1964 as a camper, and her passion for camp life has only grown since then. As our full-time Camp Director, Patti’s energy and dedication ensure unforgettable experiences for campers of all ages.

Laura Smith-Horne (Owner/Director)

Laura’s upbringing at Tanamakoon fuels her commitment to creating memorable experiences for our campers. With a background in education and a keen interest in our younger campers, Laura brings invaluable insights to her role as a Director.

Leah Bandler (Summer Camp Director)

Leah Bandler brings a deep passion for camping, child development, and community building to her role as Summer Camp Director. With years of experience working with children, families, and camp staff, Leah is dedicated to creating a camp environment where every camper feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow.

Brittany Preston (Director of Camper and Staff Wellbeing)

Brittany Preston serves as Tanamakoon’s Director of Camper and Staff Well-Being, a role dedicated to supporting the health, happiness, and success of every member of our camp community. With a warm and compassionate approach, Brittany works closely with campers and staff to ensure that everyone feels valued, supported, and able to thrive throughout the summer.

Kennedy Gleason (Director of Administration)

Kennedy Gleason is the Director of Administration at Tanamakoon, where she helps ensure that the many moving pieces of camp come together seamlessly. With exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating positive experiences, Kennedy plays a vital role in supporting campers, families, and staff throughout the year and during the summer season.

With over 40 years of experience working alongside Kim Smith, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as the Business Manager of Camp Tanamakoon. Her dedication ensures smooth operations year-round.

Tammy Lovett (Bookkeeper)

Tammy plays an essential role in keeping Tanamakoon running smoothly behind the  scenes. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring our operations stay on track, Tammy’s work helps maintain the financial health of the camp.
